Default Maps for your PC

I'm not 100% sure about this but:

Your unit should be packaged with a yellow card with a 25 digit code on it, this is all you need to unit maps for a particular region (register for an account on mygarmin.com with your 25 digit code and your unit serial number to find out what you have if you're not sure).

Then all you need is the appropriate City Navigator version disc (e.g. version 98 NT) , the discs themselves can be loaded but the maps need to be unlocked with your 25 digit code. Garmin will probably send you a disc free if you don't have one, or get a copy from a friend, or ask your local dealer.

Just Make sure that you check the version of City Navigator for which you have a license as if your 25 digit code is for an earlier version (e.g. v8) then you need a version 8 City Navigator CD to use it.

I might also be possible to load the maps from the unit back to MapSource, but IMO getting the disc and doing it the unlock way is the best.

HTH,

David
