Garmin Mapsource V9 & Zumo 550 will do this for you. I use nearly all back roads in Europe unless I'm in a hurry, which I seldom am. Their is a lot of unpaved roads (limited) shown in the Mapsource V9. I generally plan my routes in area's referring to paper maps to locate the greenlanes and then checking against Mapsource. A great feature on the Zumo for me is trackback as it allows me to view journeys I have made on Mapsource, then amend them and save for future trips. You can also view your routes in Google earth which allows you to see the terrain and what its like, very useful for mountain terrain. You can get the Zumo to route you a myriad of ways, for example, when I want to stick to very rural roads and gravel tracks I set avoidances on navigation to "avoid toll roads, highways and allow unpaved roads. This setting will set an adventure in progress I assure you, but suitable for trailie bikes really. It takes a bit of time and effort to get used to all the settings, but worth it in the end. Hope this is of help to you.
