Every now and again, it's a good idea to tidy up the waypoints, routes and tracks that are stored on you unit. One way of doing this that I like is the following:
- Open MapSource on your PC
- Upload all waypoint, route and track information to your unit via the 'Receive from Device' button
- Save the MapSource file as some useful name e.g 276C_bkup_11_01_08.gdb
- From the map page of the unit, press 'menu' twice to take you to the main system menu
- Scroll down to the 'Route' selection on the left hand side of the screen, if there are routes there, move the cursor into the right hand pane by pressing the right arrow button.
- Now press menu button and the option 'Delete All' appears, as all routes have now been moved to the MapSource session these can be deleted
- Scroll down to the 'Points' selection on the left hand side of the screen, if there are waypoints there under the tab 'user', move the cursor into the right hand pane by pressing the right arrow button.
- Now press menu button and the option 'Delete All' appears, as all waypoints have now been moved to the MapSource session these can be deleted
- Scroll down to the 'Track' selection on the left hand side of the screen, if there are tracks there, move the cursor onto the 'Saved' tab and into the right hand pane by pressing the right arrow button.
- Now press 'menu' button and the option and select 'Delete All'
- Open a second MapSource instance
- From the 'Waypoints' tab in the first MapSource, select the waypoints that you would like to keep on the handset, copy and paste these into the 'Waypoints' tab for the second MapSource session.
- Do the same for Routes and Tracks using the tabs from the first MapSource session and copy and paste the routes and tracks that you would like to keep on the unit into your second MapSource session.
- Save the second MapSource session as some sensible name, e.g. 276C_new_points_11_01_08.gdb
- Send the points, routes and tracks to the device via the 'Send To Device' button
That's it
