I have got the new 2008 version on mine and as far as Estonia/Latvia is concerned Riga Vilnius, Talinnin and Narva ie the major town to a reasonable scale, are in but could not see Tartu the old Este capital or any of the towns up country. The main trunk roads are in but no side roads so you will still need your maps. English no problem. As a piece of info, you must take your original V5, Ins. Cert and Test Cert with you. Our bikes frame numbers and regn no.s were physically checked against them in and out of Estonia. One bloke who had photocopies was not allowed in at all - no way. They seem to use the word 'niet' a lot !!!. Fairly flat but good roads though, were apparently rebuilt by the Russians post war.

Thanks for the info Nomad, I remember being surprised by the border control last time I went there with the bike, stern faced officials and old fashioned entry system. I did have my original bike papers on me at the time but only by chance! so I was very lucky that day . . . . When my rear wheel fell off later in the trip I didn't have the same feeling though :-o
I did find one good road out there last time and I intend go and find some more this time around :-) BestBikingRoads.com Motorcycle Travel, Motorcycle Touring, Motorcycle Routes, Motorcycle Roads, Motorcycle GPS, GPS Motorcycle Rides, Motorbike Roads David |

Somehow, I doubt it. Estonia is too close the Motherland and relations are still 'interesting' so that I reckon the old system will still be in place for a while, even with the 'relaxing' of formalities - vehicles disappearing over the border will still be a problem..
