Changes made from version 6.13.7 to 6.14.1:

* Updated map rendering to provide visual improvements.
* Added support for U.S. National and Swedish SWREF99 grids.
* Fixed issue with setting the PC clock on Vista.

* Added Brazilian Portuguese translation.
* Improved interface for managing map products and unlock codes.

Notes:

* WARNING: This software will not work unless you already own a MapSource product.
* This version of MapSource no longer supports Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows NT.

I think I've just found what appears to be a bug when moving waypoints with this release.

If you try right clicking on a waypoint then selecting 'move waypoint' nothing happens

This used to work, anyone else got the same problem?

the only thing that i like in the new version is the graphical layout

has anyone found any way to view smaller icons in waypoints and pois?

And, it's really really slow!!!

Honestly, I prefer the old version!

Anyway probably Garmin will sort it out soon.

Regarding the waypoint question,

Click : Edit -> Preferences -> Waypoint, then select the smaller waypoint icon from the availalble types, then click the box 'Also use these defaults for waypoints created on a map feature'

I think that is what you mean?
