I was just playing around on the Garmin site trying to compare two products which are not in the same range (e.g. 276C (marine product) and 296(aviation product)) and I found that using the site, I was not able to compare two products from separate ranges.
I noticed however that each product has a code in it's url therefore you can build your own url to compare to products of your choice (obviously the results may be mixed if there are no common features) For Example: The Garmin 396 has the following URL: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare....areProduct=313 and the Garmin 276C has the following URL: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=148&pID=233 so the id of the product (as far as garmin.com is concerned) for the 396 is 313 and for the 276C is 233 Now if I compare two other products I can build the compare URL (in this example I went to the automotive units and selected two Nuvis), this gave: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare....reProduct=9122 so now if I change the product ids in the URL for the 276C and the 396 I get a comparison: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare....areProduct=313 And that's it. I found that quite handy David |
