Default TOM TOM rider version 2

Hi, I'm new to motorcycle sat nav, just bought a Tom Tom rider version 2. Any tips and experiences with it would be good. first impressions are good, although the RAM mounting is not too clever and i'm having problems when my phone is connected. It will receive calls but not make calls, just comes up no dial tone, any ideas? Regards Mark T

Hi
have you checked on the Tom Tom site re its compatibility with your phone. I take it that you have downloaded your phonebook into the nav via bluetooth.
I have the Rider 1 and an old nokia housebrick 6310 and I have no problems.

If you post a picture of the RAM mount and I'll see if I can make any suggestions about how you could make it better.

TomTom Rider 1

Tom Tom Rider 1 had two version of the same cradles identified by Model TomTom Rider Holder and Model TomTom Rider Holder II which is visible . The changes are slight and cosmetic. It came with its own mount which many changed to use a RAM-B-238 diamond base across two diagonal holes with two M3 x 15mm screws. The knack is to dangle screws in the diamond base over their cradle and 'nip' each screw to start them off, not one at a time. A lanyard strap was also useful to catch it from falling out the cradle.

Tom Tom Rider 2

This version as we know has RAM parts in the box. The parts are RAM-B-309-7 bracket either clutch/brake clamp or with 25mm 1" u-bolt for tubular bars with RAM-B-201 arm and a RAM-B-347 with the four hole AMPS pattern to attach on their latest version of cradle.
