What I don't like about the Garmin Zumo
I've been using my Zumo this weekend in place of my 276 this weekend, generally I like the zumo and it does have many advantages over the 276 (antenna quality, battery, easier to hold in cradle, easier to enter addresses, etc) however there also some features that I really miss when using the Zumo and these are the following:
The use of the map on the available screen size is much better on the 276, I like to have the speed and time indicators on the corners of the screen instead of on a big bar at the bottom of the screen which occupies a lot of the screen which could be used for a better view of the map.
I really like the old way of warning for directions, when you exit for example the motorway, with the 276, the screen flashes up to tell you to look out for something, I have yet to find a way to do this on the Zumo, and at the moment I believe it's not possible.
The quality and versatility of the track log when only using the unit is much better on the 276
When riding during the day, without a route (i.e. just looking at the map view), it's quite difficult to see the minor roads on the zumo as they are dark yellow on a light yellow background, on the 276 they are by default black on a beige background
The screen visibility in direct sunlight is far better on the 276 as is the battery life of the unit and the batteries can be more easily removed.
The Zumo unit auto zoom is an annoying feature that I would prefer not to have.
Waypoints: I wanted to tell a friend who has a streetpilot the ordinate points of a location that I had marked as a favourite and I couldn't find an easy way to do this using only the unit, probably I missed something here but on the 276 it's far easier I think
